CMCEF ~ Federated Scholarship Now Open


                             

The CMCEF ~ Federated Insurance Scholarship Committee is now accepting applications for the 2014 Scholarship.  The $1000.00 scholarship is awarded to a member of an MCA Student Chapter or a son, daughter or legal ward of persons who are full-time salaried employees of a mechanical contracting firm.  The firm must be a member of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada and have been in good standing for at least one year. The firms must sponsor the candidate(s) and the application(s) must be endorsed by the senior executive officer of the province or zone operations. The candidate must be a Canadian Citizen who has or will successfully complete the requirement to qualify for post-secondary education. A student must not otherwise receive a major scholarship or bursary.

10th Annual CMCEF Golf Tournament Now Open For Registration.  Join us on July 9th at the Grey Silo         

The 10th Annual CMCEF Golf Tournament is now open for registration.  This year the tournament returns to an all-time favorite, the Grey Silo Golf Club, in Waterloo, Ontario.  The tournament will take place on Wednesday, July 9th, 2014.  This tournament is the largest fundraiser that the Foundation holds annually.  To date over $200,000 has been raised through this event.  Funds raised go towards development and delivery of education to the Mechanical Contracting Industry.  Come out and support your Association.  If you are unable to attend, there are opportunities to support through sponsorship, silent auction donations and donations.  For further information please contact, CMCEF Executive Director, Tania Johnston by phone at 613-232-5169 or email Tania@cmcef.org.

Estimating Conference - Project Procurement and Strategies - 2nd Edition -

Vancouver, British Columbia - June 3rd to 5th, 2014

Would you like to turn your estimating efforts into a sales tool?  Would you like to improve the accuracy of your estimating process?  Would you like a better analysis of your risk during the estimating process?  Would you like to improve your success rate in project procurement?  We are sure that your answer to all four questions is a resounding YES! 

 

The Canadian Mechanical Contracting Education Foundation (CMCEF) is pleased to announce that it will hold the “2014 Estimating – Project Procurement and Strategies – 2nd Edition” conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, June 3-5, 2014, at the Executive Hotel- Burnaby.  We have labeled it as the “2nd Edition” as this conference was recently held in Toronto this past November.  Evaluations were excellent and due to the unique target audience, those responsible for project procurement, we felt that a second offering was essential as soon as possible.  Please note this is not a seminar dealing with quantity survey and pricing.  This seminar deals with the estimating process, and includes Bid/No Bid decision making, writing a winning Proposal, developing a comprehensive Final Summary and an opportunity to make a sales presentation to an actual customer.

 

A few important highlights include: 

·         The conference is limited to 30 participants so be sure to register early. 

·         A hotel room block has been reserved.  The cut-off date is April 30th.   

·         Early Bird pricing has been set for the conference with a cut-off date of April 30th.    By registering early you can save $200 per person
